Support Us Please join us in investing in the future of our community's disadvantaged youth! For a donation of $2500, you or your firm can sponsor a young person's internship. However, donations of all sizes make a difference and are sincerely appreciated. There are two ways to make a tax-deductible contribution: Mail a check to: Center for Youth Development through Law, UC Berkeley School of Law, Berkeley, CA 94720 Or donate securely online by clicking here: Host a Youth Intern During the Summer Our participants are enthusiastic and hard-working, and have basic computer skills. By hosting one (or more) of them in your office, you will receive extra help in your office while providing the young person with exposure to a professional environment, practical employment skills, role models, inspiration for higher education, and exposure to law, government and/or community service. The intern would work in your office four days per week for seven weeks during the summer. Typical projects interns can do include data entry, organizing library materials, internet research, reception and designing fliers. They should also learn about the substantive work of your office, for example, through observing hearings, participating in meetings, and/or talking with staff about their careers. Firms hosting our interns contribute $2500 to our program (to cover the young person's stipend, payroll tax, workers compensation insurance and other program costs) and are acknowledged in our program materials. Nonprofit organizations may be able to receive an intern for no cost. Our internship hosts have been extremely pleased with their experiences. Almost all continue to host interns annually. Here is just a small sampling of feedback: "The entire staff was overwhelmingly pleased with M.S. His presence was of great help to us." "C.K. made a real effort to find ways to be helpful. He was great!" Our internship hosts include: |

It is a full-time (Monday through Friday), nine-week program that will help you develop legal knowledge, employment skills, communication skills, and preparation for your future.
